Boyd starts working on the Kry10 concept
ABOUT KRY10
Some things matter too much to leave to chance

Foundations
At Kry10, we strengthen the foundations that help critical systems operate, adapt and endure. From critical business systems to critical national infrastructure, the more resilient the world’s systems become, the more possible the future becomes, regardless of the source of the threat.
-
Why Kry10
-
Proof over probability
The only code you can trust has evidence
-
Isolate the problem
Prevent failures and attacks from spreading
-
Stay in control
The world is shifting rapidly. You need to change with it.
Who we work with
We work with those responsible for critical systems

From the operators to the architects to strategic leaders. All the people who can’t afford to get it wrong.
Those responsible for the critical systems the rest of us depend on. Every year those systems become more capable. Every year they become more exposed. And our clients carry the consequences.
They’ve seen enough patches, promises and point solutions to know that security can’t be solved at the surface. Now they’re looking deeper. Beyond detection. Beyond mitigation. Towards trusted foundations that are designed to free them to get on with what they do best.
Our story
Don’t build what the world needs right now, build what the world is going to need for the future

After 18 years at Microsoft — fifteen of them on Xbox where he built Xbox Live and led the operating system for Xbox One — Kry10’s founder Boyd Multerer decided with certainty that a game console isn’t a PC.
It's really a big, hot, plugged-in industrial device that needs to defend against attackers. This made the Xbox very similar to factories, power grids, hospitals and other critical systems, but with one key difference. "In console land, the consequence of a failure was that a company could go out of business. At an industrial level, the consequence of a failure is that people might die."
Boyd founded Kry10 to eliminate exactly that risk. In his own words, "I founded the company to protect the world's utilities and protect people's homes".

In 2018, an Edmund Hillary Fellowship Global Impact Visa bought Boyd and his family to Wellington, New Zealand. Once in Wellington, Boyd connected with future Kry10 co-founder, Jason Fox.
Being located in New Zealand put Boyd and Jason close to the Sydney-based team that developed the verified seL4® microkernel that the Kry10 Operating System (KOS) is built on. This enabled access to the formal methods expertise which would have been impossible from Boyd’s Seattle home.
Kry10 has grown to include a Sydney-based engineering team, and teams in the USA and UK, working with clients and partners across the Five Eyes and allied governments, critical infrastructure and corporations looking to run their critical systems with confidence.
